Step 3: Add your own photos and text

Choose an example
below... the top three are
motion demos.
1. The first step in replacing a Placeholder Photo with one of your own is to right-click on it and choose "Insert Picture" from the pop-up menu.
2. This takes you to the Image Editor where you’ll navigate to the folder which contains the photo you want...
3. ...clicking on a photo’s name previews it in the lower left corner of the Image Editing window.
4. Double clicking on the photo name places it in the cropping part of the window...
5. ...and reveals the red cropping rectangle which is proportioned exactly to the picture box on the template.
6. Here, the "Scale to Fit" command has been chosen from the Menu; note what’s happened to the picture and cropping rectangle. This red rectangle may still be reduced proportionally with the red squares at its corners, and dragged around.
7. And, by choosing "Crop" from the Menu, the photo is previewed exactly as it will appear on your Event Page.
8. Now all that’s necessary to complete the page is to select the placeholder text and type in your story or captions.
9. Right-clicking on the photo gets the pop-up menu where "Set Event Thumbnail" is chosen to open the Thumbnail Editor and link this Event Page to the Home Page.

10. Again, the red photo cropping box allows the author to select the portion of the picture which will appear on the home page. Choosing Crop, then Save, from the buttons below closes this window, places the Thumbnail on the Home Page in exactly the right position, and links it interactively to this Event Page.
The author may select any part of any one of the photos on his Event Page for display on the Home Page as a link to that Event Page.
Not all Event Pages need to have a Thumbnail Link. For example, a sequence of Event Pages with photos from a wedding or party or vacation might only employ one Thumbnail Link.

The page above shows how this Event Page would
look with the other Layout Style.
